After the conclusion of the league phase of the 2024/25 Champions League, I thought it would be interesting to take a look at how much TV money each club has earned to date, especially as there have been major changes this season in both the format and the distribution methodology.
League Phase
Despite a defeat in their last game, Liverpool finished top of the league phase with an impressive seven wins giving the Reds 21 points, ahead of three clubs on 19 points, namely Barcelona, Arsenal and Inter.
The remaining four clubs that qualified directly for the last 16 were Atletico Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, Lille and Aston Villa. Therefore, England dominated with three of the top eight, followed by Spain with two clubs.
None of the elite clubs were eliminated at this stage, but Manchester City left it late before qualifying for the knockout round in 22nd place.
Revenue by Club
My calculations suggest that three clubs have already received more than €90m from this season’s Champions League, namely Liverpool €100m, Arsenal €91m and Barcelona €90m.
They are closely followed by Bayer Leverkusen €89m, Atletico Madrid €86m and Inter €86m.
Revenue by Country
The country that has earned most to date from the Champions League is Germany with €349m, just ahead of England €340m, followed by Italy €310m, Spain €291m and France €272m.
