The numbers are obviously much lower, but good money can still be earned, especially if teams progress through the rounds.
Total Revenue
Europa League winners, Eintracht Frankfurt, earned the most with €38m, while another German club, Bayer Leverkusen, secured third place with €22m. The two English clubs also did well with semi-finalists West Ham in second place with €32m, while Leicester City were sixth highest with €18m.
There is a major difference in country representation between the Champions League and Europa League. The Big Six leagues (England, Spain, Germany, Italy, France and Portugal) contributed 22 (69%) of the 32 clubs in the Champions League group stage, compared to only 12 (38%) in the Europa League.
Interestingly, losing finalists Rangers only earned the fourth highest revenue of €21m, even though they received the second highest prize money. This was because their TV pool was very low.
