It’s a while since I last looked at football club valuations, so I thought it was about time I returned to this subject, nudged in this direction by a couple of recent factors.
First, we have had a raft of reports from various publications that have highlighted ever increasing valuations, underlining the improvement in some (if not all) of the fundamentals in the football industry.
Then, we have had an actual mega deal, as Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS has purchased a substantial minority stake in Manchester United, valuing the club at a record level for a football club.
